On August 21, 2023, the Jianfeng Haokang Party branch organized all party members in a themed party day activity, "Remembering the Glorious Journey, Gathering the Power to Forge Ahead." Members of the Youth League and heads of various departments were also invited to participate.
In the morning, all party members, Youth League members, and department heads visited the 816 military project cave. The cave's structure features "buildings within caves, caves within buildings, and rivers within caves." The largest chamber is 79.6 meters high, with a side wall excavation span of 25.2 meters and an arch span of 31.2 meters. It is known as the "world's largest artificial cave." The revolutionary spirit of "human will conquers nature, and the perseverance of Yugong moving mountains" was vividly displayed before us, as if we were in those fiery years. In the dark cave, the footprints of the pioneers of nuclear base construction are etched ("fear neither hardship nor death," "Hundreds of millions of people, hundreds of millions of soldiers; tens of thousands of mountains and rivers, tens of thousands of camps"), deeply feeling the arduous and outstanding revolutionary spirit of the Third-Line construction workers.
In the afternoon, the Jianfeng Haokang group visited the 816 town military project exhibition hall, which vividly showcases the history of the top-secret 816 nuclear military project over more than half a century. Here, patriotism is not just a story in textbooks, but a vibrant piece of history, an unforgettable memory. All party members, cadres, and young people experienced up close the "hard work, selfless dedication, unity and cooperation, and courage to innovate" spirit of the older generation of revolutionaries and builders in the Third-Line construction.
Finally, Comrade Wang Wenwu, secretary of the Party branch, led all party members, cadres, and young people in studying the "important speech given by General Secretary Xi Jinping to the members of the new leading group of the Communist Youth League." He then explained the history of "Third-Line construction" and the origin of the "816 military project cave," sharing the struggle of the 816 pioneers who fearlessly opened up new paths. He emphasized that all party members and cadres, especially contemporary youth, should remember this glorious history, gather strength for progress, and carry on the spirit of the Third-Line construction.
Through this themed party day activity, all party members, cadres, and young people deeply felt the arduous and outstanding Third-Line spirit of their predecessors.
